YNPN Boston Membership
By getting involved in YNPN Boston, you will connect with thousands of young professionals in the greater Boston area from across the social sector. Our community represents a wide-range of issue areas and job functions in line with the diversity of the Boston nonprofit scene. Additionally, we have members from the nonprofit world as well as socially-engaged professionals from the government and for-profit sectors to round out our network and increase our capacity to make an impact on the social sector.
YNPN Boston offers opportunities for anyone:
• Working in the greater Boston nonprofit community
• Interested in the nonprofit sector
• Considering a career in the sector
Membership is currently at no charge. However, as we are an all-volunteer run organization and as we continue grow, our membership model may change in order to better fulfill our commitment to developing local nonprofit leaders while ensuring our organization is as inclusive and accessible as possible.
Do I have to work for a nonprofit to join?
Nope! While the majority of our members work for 501(c)(3) organizations in some capacity, we welcome people with any interest in our sector. This includes students, people considering a career in the sector, those who provide services to or work closely with nonprofits, and many others.
What, exactly, does “young” mean?
The majority of our members are nonprofit professionals in their 20’s and 30’s. However, we are age inclusive as we hope to represent a wide spectrum of nonprofit professionals to make the greatest impact. So, if you feel like the YNPN network and events are relevant to your work and interests, we encourage you to be engaged and involved with YNPN.
Food brings people together. Whether it’s Thanksgiving dinner with family or power lunches at conferences, food breaks the ice and allows bonds to form in a casual atmosphere. That’s why YNPN Boston is centering our August 18th “Networking with a Twist” on the mouth-watering sensation known as the taco. We’re heading to Simpli Bar & Bites in Jamaica Plain to help you get into the networking mood while devouring taco goodness.Read more
