Listserv Protocol

YNPN Boston values diversity and inclusion, and raises awareness throughout the region about the nonprofit sector and its participants.  We constantly broaden our impact by welcoming new professionals to our community, fostering relationships and cultivating the professional development of emerging nonprofit leaders.  The list serve is an important form of communication for our community, and the YNPN Boston Board has developed a set of protocols for posting messages to the list.

Out of courtesy to our other list subscribers, we ask that you adhere to these protocols when posting.   We value having an open and unrestricted community, so we do not censor or pre-screen postings.  We do monitor feedback and respond to questionable and objectionable posts that violate the protocols posted below.  Participation on the list is voluntary.   Violators of the list protocols will be warned by a member of the YNPN Boston Board.  Repeat offenses are grounds for removal from the list.

If you have a question about posting, please contact us at feedback@ynpnboston.org.

Protocols for posting:

  1. Please be respectful of other subscribers to the list when you post or reply to others.  We do not tolerate discrimination or defamation of any kind on the list. Disregard for this policy will result immediate removal from the list.
  2. Use subject lines appropriately to reflect the content of your post.  For example, if you’re posting a job or an event, please specify “job” or “event” in your subject line.
  3. Resume posting is strongly discouraged – there are several venues where resume distribution is perfectly acceptable and more effective (YNPN Boston affiliated social networking sites such as LinkedIn or Facebook, YNPN Boston-affiliated events, etc.), so please use these venues instead of blasting a message to the entire list.
  4. Solicitation, lobbying, and commercial advertising are strictly prohibited on the list, unless otherwise approved by the YNPN Boston Advisory Board.
  5. Please use discretion when replying to the entire list.
  6. If you have concerns, complaints, or feedback about a particular policy, please contact us at feedback@ynpnboston.org.   One of the Advisory Board members will respond to your message.

Some examples of appropriate postings include (but are not necessarily limited to):

•    Job announcements
•    Events, networking, and professional development opportunities
•    Volunteer requests
•    Information requests including mentoring, advice, or work discussion
•    Classes/workshops
•    Donation of materials/goods

Volunteer

YNPN Boston offers several opportunities for volunteering. We encourage all of our listserv subscribers to find a passion or cause of interest and volunteer some of their time. Whatever your personal motivation - altruism, quality of life, giving back, sense of duty, career experience or social reasons - the rewards for doing service within the community are endless.

The current leadership of YNPN Boston consists of a volunteer Board of Directors that oversees programmatic operations and organization-level decisions. If you are interested in volunteering with YNPN Boston please e-mail us at info@ynpnboston.org.
