Lindsay Jensen - Medicine Wheel Productions

Board Co-Chair

Lindsay is currently the Managing Director of Medicine Wheel Productions, a community building arts organiztion in South Boston. Before starting at MWP, Lindsay spent six years in the nonprofit sector working for Jewish Family & Children's Service and Cradles to Crayons. She also served for a year as an AmeriCorps member, working with 2nd and 3rd grade students on their literacy skills. Lindsay received her BA in Sociology from Seattle Pacific University and her MBA from Boston University with a dual concentration in Public and Nonprofit Management and Finance. In her down time, Lindsay can be found getting rowdy about YNPN Boston, singing in a community chorus, or watching soccer. She joined the YNPN board in November 2010.


Julia Propp

Julia Propp - Emerson College and ArtsEmerson

Board Co-Chair

Julia Propp is the Senior Manager of Patron Engagement for Emerson College’s new arts initiative and city partnership, ArtsEmerson: The World On Stage. At ArtsEmerson, Julia oversees audience development and fundraising initiatives for their international theatre, music and film programming. Prior to joining ArtsEmerson, she served as a Development Officer at the American Repertory Theater where she coordinated special events and spear-headed cultivation efforts for young professionals and emerging donors. She’s been a proud Board member of YNPN Boston since 2009 and also helps coordinate efforts for 20UNDER40. She has her MA in Theatre Education from Emerson College and is also licensed practitioner in Meyers-Briggs.


Ben Weisman - Rosie's Place

Ambassador and Events Manager

Benjamin Weisman has been involved with the nonprofit sector throughout his entire career.  Currently he is the Development Officer, Individual Giving at Rosie's Place, a sanctuary for poor and homeless women.  Previously Benjamin worked for an event consulting firm in New York specializing in non-profit galas and other fundraising events and served on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Morris County. In addition to serving on the board of YNPN-Boston, Benjamin also serves as a Board Member and Chair of the Fundraising and Development Committee for the National Marfan Foundation and coordinates teen programming for the foundation's annual conference.  Benjamin has a B.A in Theatre Arts and Political Science from Drew University in Madison, NJ and is currently pursuing his MBA from Boston University with a concentration in Public and Nonprofit Management.  Ben and his wife Lindsey live in Salem, MA with their cats Queen Elizabeth and Cleopatra.

 


Jodi

Jodie Beneson - Brandeis University

Knowledge Manager

When not managing the knowledge of YNPN, Jodi spends her days as a Ph.D. student and Research Assistant at Brandeis University. Before moving to Boston in 2010, Jodi worked for several nonprofits in the Midwest, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities, the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, and the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas. She has also worked for Indiana University and the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. Jodi received a B.S. in Business and a Master's in Public Affairs (MPA) from Indiana University. When not YNPNing, Jodi enjoys playing outside, vegetarian dining, visiting her hometown of Minneapolis, and Tina Fey. Jodi is also able to make a five-minute chocolate cake in three minutes.


Sarah Cheng

Sarah Cheng - Banco Santander

Communications Manager

Sarah Cheng is a recent addition to the non-profit community and looks forward to meeting other young non-profit professionals in Boston. Currently Sarah works in the for-profit sector for the internal consulting group at Banco Santander/ Sovereign Bank, where she has developed experience in strategy and implementation. Prior to Santander, Sarah worked in healthcare consulting at Putnam Associates. Sarah founded and serves as director for Ballet Basics Incorporated, a non-profit ballet program which partners with other non-profit organizations to provide free ballet lessons to children in Boston. She also volunteers as a professional mentor at the Year Up program. Sarah received her B.A. from Wellesley College in Economics and Classical Civilizations. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys dancing, reading, traveling, and trying new restaurants.


Andrew Duckelman - Bridgespan Group

Treasurer and Secretary

 

Andrew Dunckelman is a Consultant in Bridgespan’s Boston office. Since joining Bridgespan as an Associate Consultant in 2009, Andrew has advised a wide range of leading nonprofits and funders, developing deep experience in philanthropy strategy. Andrew’s work has included a feasibility study for a corporate philanthropy, developing a new program area for a large private foundation, and working with individual grantmakers to assess and improve their philanthropy. Andrew has contributed to Bridgespan publications on philanthropy and national networks and co-authored, with Alex Neuhoff, the article “Small but Tough: Nonprofits in Rural America.”

Prior to joining Bridgespan, during college and graduate school, Andrew worked for the National 4-H Council, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-Central Indiana, and the Partnership for Public Service. He was also on the review team of the UN’s World Program of Action for Youth, and, in 2002, served as the National Beef Ambassador, sampling consumable beef products at fairs and trade shows across the country. Andrew graduated with a BA, Phi Beta Kappa, from Louisiana State University, and with an MPA from Indiana University-Bloomington.


Lisa Guy

Lisa Guy - New Profit, Inc.

Membership Manager

Lisa works as a Talent Manager at New Profit Inc., a venture philanthropy organization focused on improving social mobility in the US, primarily through investing in innovative nonprofits.  Her responsibilities include developing a performance management system that people don't hate, hiring, coaching, and chalkboard art.  She is a California native who decided to venture out to Maine to attend Bates College where she majored in psychology and minored in religion.  She now lives in East Boston with her girlfriend, Heather, and puggle, Harley, and can often be found walking with both in local wooded areas.
