About Us
Who Are We?
The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network Boston Chapter was founded in the fall of 2006 to provide support and resources for young professionals working in the local nonprofit community. YNPN Boston has since become one of the leading resources that connect nonprofit professionals to professional development and networking opportunities.
YNPN Boston values diversity and inclusion, and raises awareness throughout the region about the nonprofit sector and its participants. YNPN Boston is responsive to the changing needs of these participants, local and national trends, and developments within the nonprofit world. We constantly broaden our impact by welcoming new professionals to the field, fostering relationships, and cultivating emerging nonprofit leaders.
By building and strengthening our network, YNPN Boston is working to create a local environment in which nonprofit professionals are fully supported, and are viewed as a vital partner with the public and private sectors to resolve critical problems.
What Do We Do?
YNPN Boston provides a variety of personal and professional development opportunities, including speakers, workshops, discussions, career development, mentoring, networking, as well as social & service events.
Why Do We Exist?
Currently, there are not enough opportunities for young nonprofit professionals in Boston to interact, share best practices, or receive social and professional support. As a result, nonprofit workers burn out, and nonprofit organizations lose gifted future leaders. YNPN Boston was established to fill that void. Through trainings, meetings, and social gatherings, young professionals are given a chance to make connections with each other, discuss issues that impact them, and help create a stronger Boston nonprofit community.
Who Are Our Subscribers?
YNPN Boston offers a free list-serve to subscribers. This list-serve is open to anyone working or interested in the greater Boston nonprofit community. We currently have more than 800 subscribers on our list-serve. Most of our subscribers work for a Boston-area nonprofit, but anyone is welcome to join our list.
